Who’s my audience?

My audience consists primarily of writers looking for advice or specific help. I also have lots of information for fiction readers.

What kind of content are my readers looking for?

My readers are looking for specific help on a writing topic (Ex.: my top post is on how to use Save the Cat beat sheets)

Key topics I cover are:

  • Writing prompts
  • How to write x,y,z
  • Writing tips

I also provide lots of reading lists for readers.

What does the process of writing for Jen Dodrill Writes blog look like?

  1. Send me a topic idea.
  2. If we agree on the topic, send the draft.
  3. I’ll lightly edit if needed and post the blog post.
  4. I’ll provide the graphics, unless you have a specific one.
  5. I’ll send you the link when it posts.

What are the basic requirements?

  • Your article must be original and not published elsewhere
  • Check spelling and grammar (I won’t accept if too many edits are required)
  • Check that what you want to write about has not already been covered on the blog. If I’ve already covered it, but you feel you still have something to say on the subject that I’ve not yet covered, send me your idea and let’s talk!
  • The post should be 800-1200 words
  • Provide your headshot and short bio (50 words or less). You may include a link to your website/blog in your bio.
  • Any affiliate links will be my own.
  • If you want to promote a book, check with me on a date to do an author interview.
